Honda has launched the update to the CBR 650R in India for Rs 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike was showcased at last year’s EICMA. This is Rs 40,000 more expensive than the previous version.
The Honda CBR 650R comes with a 649cc liquid cooled four-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve engine. It is capable of delivering 84PS of power at 11,500rpm and 60Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm. It has been mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch assist.
The chassis is 6kg lighter than its predecessor (Honda CBR 650F) and also comes with new adjustable 41 mm Showa upside down forks. In terms of braking, it sports dual radial-mount calipers on the front with dual channel ABS.
The company is also offering Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) which helps maintain rear wheel traction and can be switched off should the rider choose to.
The new Honda CBR 650R has taken a lot of cues from the Fireblade in terms of styling with aggressive lines and sharp side fairings. It receives a full LED lighting and a digital LCD instrument cluster.
The CBR 650R will be offered in two colour variants being Red and Black.
