Barring a few hiccups, the Indian women’s cricket team have been kicking ass at the ongoing ICC World Cup. After four consecutive wins and two losses, India beat New Zealand by 186 runs on Saturday to seal a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Captain Mithali scored her 6th ODI and Rajeshwari Gayakwad, who was playing just the first match in the tournament, picked up five wickets as India survived the must-win game.
After their massive win, the men’s cricket fraternity came out to laud India’s performance on the field. R Ashwin, VVS Laxman, Harbhajan Singh among others congratulated the women for their performance.
