The Champions League final saw Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0, to lift the trophy for a record sixth time.

With this win, Liverpool now stands just behind AC Milan and Real Madrid as serial winners of the tournament.

Twitter was abuzz after the final. While some of the people hailed Liverpool for another victory in the finals, others bashed the whole match and called it one of the most disappointing finals in the history of the Champions League.

Here are a few of the reactions:

Although the match started with Liverpool being awarded a penalty in the very first minute, the rest of the match didn’t really have the kind of spark one would expect in the final.

One user also pointed out that this was not the first time that a final has failed to live up its billing.

After the match, Juergen Klopp said he is immensely happy and relieved after the win.

“I’m so happy for the players and my family. There will be a moment when I’m completely overwhelmed for myself, too. I feel mostly relief, relief for my family. The last six times we flew on holiday with only a silver medal it didn’t feel too cool.”

While the fans may be divided over how the finals played out, no credit should be taken away from the teams who played well throughout the season to reach the finals.
