Twitter in Splits After Ashton Turner Finally Scores a Run in IPL

After five consecutive ducks, Ashton Turner finally scored a run in a T20 match on Saturday against Sunrisers.

Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets on 27 April, Saturday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

For Hyderabad, Manish Pandey scored an attacking 61 off 36 deliveries, Rahane and Livingstone provided a solid platform for the Royals’ chase, but what caught everybody’s attention was Australian batsman Ashton Turner finally scored a run in a T20 match after five consecutive ducks.

Turner’s Misery

It all started in February where he scored a first-ball duck in big bash in February. Then he followed it up with a five ball naught against India. The IPL too, wasn’t kind to him as the right hander scored two golden ducks against against Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians, before repeating the same against Delhi Capitals.

As soon as Ashton Turner came out to bat against Sunrisers on Friday, all eyes were on him. But fortunately for the Australian, he finally broke the shackles and scored a run.

Not only his Rajasthan teammates, Twitter was also in splits after Turner scored the all-important run, and had a good time reacting to it.

With the win against Sunrisers Hyderbad, Rajasthan Royals now move to the sixth spot on the points table. They would like to continue their good work going forward as it still possible for them to make it to the play-offs. They next meet Royal Challengers Bangalore on 30 April.
