It was Master Blaster 2.0 wishing Master Blaster 1.0 on Thursday when Sachin Tendulkar paid tribute to his "batting hero" Sir Vivian Richards on his 67th birthday.
Tendulkar took to Twitter to wish the batting legend on his birthday and said he will always cherish the support he has got from the West Indian throughout his career.
Viv Richards is one of the greatest and fiercest batsmen to grace the game of cricket.
Richards, who played 308 matches in a career spanning for 17 years, scored 15261 runs. He hit 24 hundreds and three double hundreds in Tests and 11 centuries in ODIs, at an astonishing strike rate of 86.07 in Tests and 90.2 in ODIs.
Richards, who has a stadium named after him in Antigua, also played international football for Antigua and played in the qualifying matches for the 1974 World Cup.
Cricket Australia also shared a lovely montage of Richards batting exploits ‘Down Under’ on the occasion, which was appreciated by the ‘Birthday Boy’.
Apart from Tendulkar, former cricketers all took to Twitter wish the former Wisden Cricketer of the Year, including former Windies team-mates.
