There was no stopping the Rohit Sharma juggernaut as the ace India opener notched up his maiden Test double hundred in the third and final Test against South Africa in Ranchi at the JSCA Stadium on Sunday, 20 October.
Rohit finally departed for 212 from 255 balls with the help of 28 fours and six sixes. He was caught at the fine leg boundary by Lungi Ngidi off Kagiso Rabada.
On the opening day of the Test, the 32-year-old had surpassed West Indies’ Shimron Hetmyer to set the record for most number of sixes in a Test series.
The internet was flooded with congratulatory messages for Rohit, with cricketers and fans heaping praise on the opener for adding another feather to his cap.
