Carolina Marin and PV Sindhu played a tough match in Rio Olympics final with Marin bagging the gold in women’s singles badminton.

Marin lost the first game but made a strong comeback in the remaining two as Sindhu was forced to settle for a silver.

Marin spoke later about Sindhu’s ‘strategy’ in changing shuttles, NDTV reported. Marin claimed that Sindhu had indulged in mind games as part of her strategy to stick to the old shuttle, whereas Marin wanted to change shuttles.

Speaking after the end of the match, Marin said,

She didn’t want to change the shuttle because she wanted me to lose focus. It was a little bit slow and sometimes you have to control everything on court. However, I was prepared because I knew it would happen. I didn’t get really annoyed. It’s all part of the game.
