Indian cricketers including skipper Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir expressed shock over the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama that killed at least 37 CRPF personnel on Thursday, 14 February.

In one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir's three decades of militancy, a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a Central Resrve Police Force (CRPF) bus in Pulwama district, killing at least 37 personnel and leaving many critically wounded.

“I'm shocked after hearing about the attack in Pulwama, heartfelt condolences to the martyred soldiers & prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured jawaans,” wrote India captain Virat Kohli on Twitter

“Really pained by the cowardly attack on our CRPF in J&K in which our brave men have been martyred . No words are enough to describe the pain. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured”, wrote former India opener Sehwag.

Gambhir posted a strongly worded tweet that said, “Yes, let’s talk with the separatists. Yes, let’s talk with Pakistan. But this time conversation can’t be on the table, it has to be in a battle ground. Enough is enough. 18 CRPF personnel killed in IED blast on Srinagar-Jammu highway”.

Indian cricketer Dhawan too condemned the attack. “Deeply saddened and disturbed by the news. I condemn the terror attack in Pulwama. My condolences to the families of the jawans who sacrificed their lives,” he wrote in a tweet.

Harbhajan Singh, Rishabh Pant among other cricketers too sent out their condolences to the family, while Yuvraj Singh called it a “cowardly attack”.
