Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is in it's eleventh season, found it's first crorepati of this season on Friday.
Sanoj Raj, a man from Bihar, played brilliantly to reach the 1 crore mark thus becoming the first contestant to attempt the 7 crore question.
The question was from cricket - “Who was the Indian bowler off whom Australian legend Don Bradman got a single to reach his 100th first-class century?”
Baqa Jilani, Commandur Rangachari, Gogumal Kishenchand, and Kanwar Rai Singh were the options given to him.
Sanoj decided to quit. When asked to guess any answer, he guessed option B, Commandur Rangachari, which turned out to be wrong. The correct answer was Gogumal Kishenchand. It happened in a match played between India XI and Australia XI at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Don Bradman was batting on 99, and Indian captain Lala Amarnath called up Kishenchand, who was actually a batsman, to bowl. Bradman played the first few balls with respect, before driving one to the right of mid-on to complete his century. Later on, he confessed that it was a brilliant move by the Indian skipper since he did not even know how Kishchand bowled.
However, the question got a lot of reaction from twitterati with some criticising it for the level of difficulty.
Many even pointed out that the ‘God of cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar wouldnt know the answer to the question.
However, people were all praise for Saroj.
He is being appreciated for the way he played the game. He showed composure, calmness and smartness. He decided to use his last lifeline instead of wasting it. He didn't panic and ended up becoming the first crorepati of this season.
