The third ODI in Ranchi between India and Australia was already a special one for the spectators with local boy MS Dhoni playing possibly his career’s final ODI at home.
But minutes before the toss, the players made it an extra special match for everyone around as they donned camouflage caps as a gesture of respect for the Indian Armed Forces.
According to reports, the Indian cricket team will be donning these caps for one match every home season.
The entire squad, along with the support staff, gathered in a line with former skipper MS Dhoni handing out the special caps to the everyone.
At the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli also announced that the team would be donating their match fee to the National Defence Fund.
