If you’re privy to the world of the internet, and actively scroll through your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram timelines, you'd be aware of the latest fad – the ‘10 Year Challenge’.
In the ‘challenge’ – that has gained momentum just this month – one is to post a photo from 2009 next to one that was taken this year.
It doesn’t matter if you’re Reese Witherspoon or Sonam Kapoor – people from all quarters have hopped on to the ‘10 Year Challenge’ bandwagon. And if a challenge is near, how can the Indian cricketers be far behind.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) posted photos of former captain MS Dhoni – one from 2009 and one from the second ODI against Australia where the wicketkeeper-batsman help India achieve their target.
“Our skipper has aged just like fine wine,” said IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore in their 10 Year Challenge post of Virat Kohli.
The cutest yet however, has been that of Prithvi Shaw, who was just 9 years old in 2009. The post by his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals shows a young Shaw waving his bat around, much like he still is.
Rohit Sharma in a power move, posted a photo of a degrading waterbed. ‘The only 10 Year Challenge we should be worried about,’ he wrote.
Indian bowler Ravichandran Ashwin in an Instagram post wrote, 'My 10 Year Challenge took me to the 2009 IPL in South Africa’.
“From cricket to golf, how life changed but sports is still by my side!” wrote former India cricketer RP Singh.
The ICC also posted Lasith Malinga’s 10 Year Challenge, “still rocking the same iconic hairstyle".
