Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh who had made several successful comebacks during his illustrious career, drew curtains on Monday, 10 June. And it was about one of those comebacks that the 37-year-old’s wife, Hazel Keech, revealed an interesting incident about.
After the press conference where Yuvraj announced his retirement, the model-turned-actress said that she never watch cricket before meeting Yuvraj. She went on to reveal how the cricketer got really emotional, after he was recalled to the Indian T20 side for the three-match series against Australia in early 2016.
Yuvraj, who last played for India in a T20I against England in 2017, said he had “decided to move on”.
“As a wife, it’s not my place to tell him what to do but if the time has come for him to decide that I’m going to make this decision I’ve been thinking about for the last two years, then he has my full support, Hazel said.
While he has walked away from all forms of international cricket as well as the Indian Premier League, Yuvraj said he is hoping to play in other domestic T20 cricket leagues around the world if he gets the approval from the BCCI. Talking about how life post retirement will be, Hazel said, “It’ll be nice but it’ll also be different. From the time that we’ve been together, he was playing and even I was working. So our normal is very different from other peoples’ normal so now it’ll be different that he’s around”.
