Long before the start of the ICC World Cup 2019, veteran West Indies batsman Chris Gayle said he would retire from one-day international cricket after the quadrennial tournament.

He had then later even suggested ‘un-retirement’ during their ODI series against England. But for now, the ‘Universe Boss’ just seems to be enjoying his time at the big event.

During their World Cup match against hosts England, the 39-year-old hard-hitting batsman sported aviators as he was introduced into the bowling attack in the 21st over and gave away just 1 run! But that wasn’t the end of it because captain Holder kept him in the attack.

While the opening batsman made the English struggle to get their runs, Twitter couldn’t help but comment on his look.

Earlier, Gayle scored 36 in the World Cup group game against England. The 39-year-old left-hander started the game with 1,596 career runs in ODIs against England. He surpassed Richards' record of 1,619 in bilateral ODIs when he drove Chris Woakes down the ground for a boundary His 41-ball knock came to an end in the 13th over when he hit Liam Plunkett into the outfield and was caught by Jonny Bairstow.
