While travelling to Cardiff for India’s second warm-up game, Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was busy interviewing his teammates. En route to Cardiff, Chahal interviewed various team members of the Indian team including the likes of Indian opener Rohit Sharma, batting coach Sanjay Bangar, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach Sriram.
Chahal started the interview by asking Shastri to share his experiences of his playing days in England. To which Shastri replied that he has very fond memories of playing in England including their memorable 1983 World Cup win.
“Thoda Mumbaiyaa hindi mein aa jaao toh phir baat cheet karenge” (Let’s converse in Mumbaiya Hindi), added Shastri.
Shastri also remembered the days he used to play cricket for Glamorgan.
Having reached England well before their campaign opener against South Africa on 5 June, India got down to practice sessions to get a feel of the conditions.
The likes of MS Dhoni and KL Rahul scoring centuries also boarded well for Indian team. The India bowlers also had a good match practice as they bowled Bangladesh out for 264 after the India scored 359/7 batting first.
