Hours after the Indian cricket team won its historic first bilateral ODI series on Australian soil, Bollywood actor and captain Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian team and her husband for "an unforgettable and outstanding tour".
"What an unforgettable & outstanding tour it's been!! Happy to have witnessed the historic victories by the men. HUGE congratulations (Team India). And so proud of you my love @imVkohli," she said in a tweet on Friday, 18 January.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni struck an unbeaten 87 to guide India to a historic series win against Australia as the visitors beat the hosts by seven wickets in the decisive third match in Melbourne on Friday.
Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav (61) shared an unbeaten 121-run stand for the fourth wicket as India overhauled the tricky 231-run target on a slow wicket with four balls to spare.
The team was presented the winners' trophy by former batsman Adam Gilchrist.
