Ronaldo’s Moth Makes Headlines as Portugal Clinches Euro Title

A few of hours after Portugal clinched the Euro Championship trophy, the moth had already gone viral on Twitter.

Portugal won one of the biggest football tournaments on Sunday, and while French forward Eder is making headlines for his winning goal, there’s someone else who’s fighting him for the limelight. Its Mr Moth, the lepidopteran pest that’s giving the Portuguese a run for his money for the world’s attention.

After a tackle with French footballer Dimitri Payet in the 18th minute, an injured Ronaldo fell to the ground calling for medical attention. While he waited for help, a moth decided to come and help him before the medics could.

A couple of hours after Portugal clinched the Euro trophy, Mr Moth was already trending on Twitter with around 100 Ronaldo moth twitter accounts.

More than 60 accounts have been made and the numbers are increasing every hour!

And for obvious reasons, Mr Moth is a meme.
