1. Axar Patel Hat-Trick Guides KXIP To Win Over Gujarat Lions
Axar Patel did the star turn as bottom placed Kings XI Punjab rode on the left-arm spinner’s hat-trick to upset table toppers Gujarat Lions by 23 runs in Sunday’s afternoon fixture.
This was the first hat-trick of the ongoing 9th edition of the league.
Kings XI Punjab were put in to bat first and got all out for 154 but restricted the opposition to 131 for 9 in front of their home crowd at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

2. Mumbai Indians March to 8-wkt Win Over Supergiants
Skipper Rohit Sharma led by example as Mumbai Indians outclassed Pune Supergiants by eight wickets in the evening fixture on Sunday.
It was brilliant bowling at the backend by Jasprit Bumrah (3/29) and Harbhajan Singh (1/25) that saw MI restrict Supergiants to an unimpressive 159 for five with burly Saurabh Tiwary’s slow 57 off 45 balls being the reason for team’s defeat.
A below-par score was never going to pose any problems for the defending champions who surpassed the target in only 18.3 overs with skipper Rohit smashing an unbeaten 85 off 60 balls. En route his fifth half-century in 9 games, Rohit hit eight boundaries and three sixes. The sixes were hit effortlessly in the mid-wicket region with last one ending the match. Rohit is now second in run-getters list with 383 runs in nine games and three runs behind David Warner (386 runs).
3. Mitch Marsh Ruled Out of IPL With a Side Strain
Injury-ravaged Rising Pune Supergiants suffered another blow on Sunday after their Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the IPL due to a side strain. Marsh joined Kevin Pietersen and Faf du Plessis in the list of injured Pune players, who have been forced out of the IPL.
“Mitchell experienced some pain over his left abdominal area whilst batting at a training session with his team Pune in the IPL a few days ago,” Cricket Australia Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager Alex Kountouris said in a statement.
Marsh had played only three matches for Supergiants’ so far, taking four wickets at an economy of 5.
4. India Win One Silver, Two Bronze in Archery World Cup
Indian women’s team settled for the silver after losing to Chinese Taipei in the final, while men’s trio and mixed pair won their respective bronze playoffs in the first stage of Archery World Cup at the Yuanshen Stadium on Sunday.
Women’s team comprising Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi Laishram and Laxmirani Majhi put up an inconsistent show that included an abysmal five in the crucial third set, to lose to the lower-ranked Chinese Taipei 2-6 in the recurve team final.
Later, the third seeded Indian men’s recurve team of Atanu Das, Jayanta Talukdar and Mangal Singh Champia brought smiles back to the Indian camp, hammering ninth seed British team 6-0 to bag the bronze medal.
The mixed pair of Deepika and Atanu ended India’s campaign on a high, getting the better of much fancied Koreans 5-4 in a nerve-wracking shoot-off to end with another bronze.
5. Leicester Draw Man United, Can Bag Title Today
Leicester City must wait atleast till later today for their first-ever Premier League title after drawing 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Claudio Ranieri’s side failed to get the victory that would have brought the silverware but they will be crowned champions on Monday if second-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who trail them by eight points, fail to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where they have not won since 1990.
Leicester suffered an early setback when striker Anthony Martial put United ahead with a neat right-foot finish from Antonio Valencia’s eighth-minute cross. They however who equalised nine minutes later when captain Wes Morgan headed home a Danny Drinkwater free kick.
6. Rosberg Wins Seventh In a Row, Force India Pick 2 Points
Formula One championship leader Nico Rosberg chalked up his seventh win in a row at the Russian Grand Prix on Sunday with team mate Lewis Hamilton fighting back from 10th on the grid to seal a Mercedes one-two finish.
The German equalled the achievement of compatriot Michael Schumacher in winning seven successive races, with only Vettel (nine in 2013 with Red Bull) and the late Italian Alberto Ascari ahead of them.
Sahara Force India driver Sergio Perez finished ninth to collect two points while team-mate Nico Hulkenberg crashed out in a chaotic first lap.
