Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero and Usain Bolt are Puma’s three biggest faces world wide at present. It will come as little surprise then, that Virat Kohli recently got added to that list, after he penned a Rs 100 crore eight-year deal with the German sporting giants.
The 11-time Olympic Gold Medallist took to Twitter, to congratulate the Indian captain on his achievement.
Shortly after, Kohli responded, thanking the Jamaican for his good wishes.
Kohli’s deal with Puma, comes after his previous relation with Puma’s rivals Adidas ended last year. The deal involves a fixed payment and royalty depending on Puma’s business, according to The Economic Times. The Delhi batsman will launch a signature line of sports lifestyle products with a special logo and brand identity to further promote the brand.
Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar have been members 100 crore deals through various endorsements during their respective careers. Kohli however, is the first to do so with a single brand.
