Harmanpreet has won the toss and has decided to bat first.
The day 2 of India's wrestling campaign has started on a positive note here, with Pooja Gehlot winning her first match in the women's freestyle 50kg category. She defeated Scotland's Christelle Lemofack Letchidjio 12-2 on points.
Besides wrestling, boxing action is also underway and Nitu Ghanghas has given the Indian contingent a great start.
The 21-year-old youngster had already assured a medal by qualifying for the last four. Now, she defeated Canada's Priyanka Dhillon via RSC (Referee Stops Count) to qualify for the final of women's minimumweight category.
We shift our attention back to wrestling, where Vinesh Phogat has taken all but 36 seconds to beat Canada's Samantha Stewart. The two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist pinned her opponent down quite easily to win her first match in the Nordic round robin of women's freestyle 53kg category.
India's wrestling supremacy continues here at the Commonwealth Games 2022, as after Vinesh Phogat, it is now Naveen Sihag's turn to win his first bout.
He beats Nigeria's Ogbonna Emmanuel John 13-3 to qualify for the quarter-finals of men's freestyle 74kg category.
Three Indian wrestlers are yet to start their campaign, but before they do so, we turn our focus to athletics for a brief moment.

At the end of their stipulated 20 overs, the Indian women’s cricket team has managed to put up a fighting total of 164 runs on the scoreboard.
The women in blue had a fantastic start, courtesy of Smriti Mandhana’s scintillating 32-ball 61. Though it once looked India will be able to cross the 180-run mark, the run rate saw a dip following the opener’s dismissal.
However, Jemimah Rodrigues managed to keep the scoreboard ticking, as the youngster accumulated 44 runs from 31 deliveries. As for England’s bowlers, Freya Kemp was the most successful with figures of 3-0-22-2.

In a game where both players gave their best, Sreeja suffered a 6-11, 11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 8-11, 11-8. 10-12 defeat. She will now compete in the bronze medal match.
