In a historic judgement on Tuesday, the Supreme Court pronounced triple talaq as unconstitutional. A lot of people across the country have hailed this decision as a milestone in India’s race for women empowerment and equality.
Like women’s organisations, celebrities and many other people, former cricketer Mohammad Kaif too, welcomed the decision by tweeting about it.
But naturally, some people were not very happy with the order and felt that the court is infringing on their religious freedom. Sadly, Kaif seems to have landed in their line of fire.
What is surprising is that this was not the first time Kaif faced this kind of hate on social media.
Earlier, a picture of Kaif doing surya namaskar got criticised by people claiming yoga is of not being a part of Islam.
Then a picture of Kaif playing Chess with his son also received a lot of flak, as chess too, is considered an anti-Islamic practice.
