Virat Kohli plays his 100th IPL game as Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday, March 4. The team from Bengaluru are winless so far in the season and they will be looking to break the jinx against the Royals.

Kohli had joined the Bangalore outfit in the inaugural season in 2008 and it was only in 2013 when he was given the captain’s mantle.

Kohli has had an unfortunate season do far. After losing to Chennai Super Kings in their opening game, they lost a close encounter due to an umpiring error against Mumbai Indians in their next. Against Sunrisers Hyderabad it was an one-sided contest with David Warner and Jonny Bairstow striking centuries.

What has been a very poor start to the season with the bat so far, Kohli is yet score a fifty-plus score this season. He is not even among the top ten run scorers in IPL 2019 at the moment.

On Tuesday, against Rajasthan Kohli again failed to convert a good start as he was castled by Shreyas Gopal for 23. His failure with the bat is one of the reasons why Royal Challengers Bangalore’s miseries continue to pile on in this season.

Besides him, AB De Villiers’ inconsitency with the bat has hurt the team’s chances also. He has been dismissed twice in single-digit scores in the first three matches.

The match against Rajasthan looks to be a must-win match for Virat Kohli’s men if they want to be in the reckoning for a last – four finish at the end of the season. They are currently placed at the bottom of the points table with three losses in as many matches.
