‘Exceptionally relieved,’ said AB De Villiers after Royal Challengers Bangalore got over the line against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali to register their maiden win this season.
RCB have finally got two points to show for their efforts, and after the win the two pillars of the side – ABD and captain Virat Kohli – thanked their fans for staying beside them throughout this tough phase. They further urged them to keep believing on the team as well.
“We are all exceptionally relieved with the win. Finally, we cross the line and hopefully that’s a sign of things to come. We know it’s going to be a lot of hardworking but the way we set up this game tonight, hopefully we can do the same thing in Mumbai, at the Wankhede stadium. Miracles have happened before, but we are definitely committed to doing something special. But thank you for being there for us, thank you,” said de Villiers in the video posted by RCB.
It took them seven games to finally get a win on the board and Mr 360, AB De Villiers urged his fans to keep supporting and believing in the franchise saying that miracles have happened in the past and there is a chance that another might happen as well.
However, on realistic grounds RCB have very little chances and have to win all their remaining games to give themselves any chance of making it to the final four.
This win will certainly come as a huge boost for Kohli, however it does not take away that fact that they are heavily reliant on the pair of Kohli and De Villiers to win them every game besides having problems sorting out their best playing XI and chalking out the best bowers as well.
None of the RCB bowlers except Yuzvendra Chahal has looked like taking a wicket so far in the tournament.
The journey ahead id even tougher for RCB as they face CSK and KKR in two of their next four games. However this can be seen as a sign of good things to come for the 2016 finalists.
