Kolkata Knight Rider’s Kuldeep Yadav was literally left in tears after Moeen Ali hammered him for 3 sixes and 2 fours in his final over at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

Bowling the 16th over of match 35 of IPL 2019 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kuldeep finished with 27 runs in the over but eventually dismissed Moeen Ali off the last ball as a consolation.

Kuldeep ended up giving 59 runs off his four overs in the match, which is the joint-most expensive spell by a spinner in IPL history.

At the end of the over a clearly dejected Kuldeep couldn’t contain his emotions as he takes his cap from the umpire, throws it to the ground and again picks it up before going towards mid-wicket.

As Kuldeep crouched on the ground, his eyes welled up. His KKR teammates ran towards him. Lynn, Rana and Prasidh tried consoling him.

During the time-out, which was immediately after the 16th over, Kuldeep was not even part of the huddle. Andre Russell tried to bring him back into the huddle but was there out in the field on his knees. Eventually, two players from the support staff had to pick him up as he finally joined the huddle.

Kuldeep’s fortunes deteriorated as the evening passed. After the nightmare with ball, Kuldeep failed to prevent two crucial boundaries in the final over of RCB innings.

Kuldeep has been having a pathetic IPL 2019 and Friday evening’s performance just took the toll on him. In 9 matches till now this season, Kuldeep Yadav has picked up only 4 wickets at an average of 71.50.

Kuldeep, along with Chahal, will be leading India’s spin department in upcoming World Cup in England. In fact, for the past one and half years, Kuldeep has been the go-to person for Virat Kohli whenever the captain needs a wicket. And the talented wrist spinner hasn’t disappointed.

Put into bat by Knight Riders skipper, Dinesh Karthik RCB piled on runs, courtesy skipper Virat Kohli and Moeen Ali, who took the KKR bowlers to the cleaners. Kohli scored his fifth IPL century as RCB finished with 213/4 in their 20 overs.
