IPL 2019: Dhoni, Jadeja Rested as Chennai Elect to Bowl vs Mumbai

For the second time this season captain MS Dhoni won’t feature in the playing XI for the Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings’ stand-in captain Suresh Raina won the toss and elect to bowl against Mumbai Indians in match number 44 of the Indian Premier League at Chepauk in Chennai on Friday.

Captain MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja won’t be part of the playing XI since both are down with fever. Faf du Plessis will also be missing out for the Super Kings. Dhruv Shorey, Murali Vijay and Santner will be replacing the trio.

This is the second time Dhoni is missing a match this season. Earlier, Dhoni had missed a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad due to a back injury.

As far as Mumbai is concerned, Evin Lewis and Anukul Roy have come in place of Ben Cutting and Mayank Markande.

Chennai and Mumbai occupy the first and the third place on the points table, with sixteen points and twelve points respectively.
