Defending champions Chennai Super Kings have again done well in yet another season of IPL. MS Dhoni and Co were he first team in this edition to qualify for the playoffs. CSK finished at the second spot on the points table with 18 points from 14 matches.
Thanks to their top two finish, CSK have got another shot for a place in the final of IPL 2019 despite losing to Mumbai Indians in the first qualifier.
The Super Kings – who marked a dream return to the competition after a two-year ban by winning the IPL 2018 title – kept faith in the bulk of the ‘Dad’s Army’ that won them the IPL crown, retaining 23 players from their title-winning squad during the auction.
That left MS Dhoni’s side with only two spots to fill at the IPL 2019 Auction, for which they carried a purse of Rs 8.40 crore.
