The first Test between India and South Africa is somewhat evenly poised after the visitors ended day one at 28/2 in Mohali.

After choosing to bat first, India were bundled out for 201 in the first innings. Here are some numbers to take you through the day.

South Africa batted just 20 overs on day 1 but the spin of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja ensured skipper Kohli would get to smile a little on his birthday as the Proteas posted just 28/2 at stumps.
