Yuvraj Singh scored 44 runs off 30 balls as Sunrisers Hyderabad knocked out Kolkata Knight Riders after beating them in the IPL eliminator at New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen kept getting out at regular intervals while chasing Hyderabad’s score of 162/8.
The 46-run partnership between Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav in the middle overs kept Kolkata in the game but once the partnership was broken, Hyderabad took control of the match.
Earlier, the Hyderabad captain David Warner and Moises Henriques strung an important partnership of 59 runs at the top of the order.
But Warner and Henriques fell in quick succession in the tenth over which brought back the balance in the match.
Then Yuvraj Singh’s innings propelled Hyderabad to a decent score of 162/8.
Here’s a look at the match through pictures.
Morne Morkel got Sunrisers Hyderabad off to a fantastic start after getting Shikhar Dhawan bowled for just ten runs. Hyderabad were 12/1 after two overs.

After Henriques dismissed Yusuf Pathan, Manish Pandey (36) and Suryakumar Yadav (23) looked like taking away the match from Hyderabad. They put together 46 runs in five overs.

Then Henriques and Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the wickets of Yadav and Pandey in quick succession which tilted the match in Hyderabad’s favour. Kumar picked up two more wickets (Rajagopal Sathish and Jason Holder) and eventually Kolkata lost the match by 22 runs.
