Bhubaneswar is set to host the 14th edition of the men’s Hockey World Cup starting 28 November, with India playing their opening fixture against South Africa on the opening day of the tournament.
World's top 16 teams, including defending champions Australia, Olympic champions Argentina and the most successful team Pakistan will compete in the 19-day tournament. The Odisha government has already declared holiday for schools and educational institutions for the opening event. Music Maestro AR Rahman will be performing at the opening ceremony for the event.
