UEFA on Thursday announced the Champions League 2018-19 semi-finals draw. While resilient Ajax will be facing Tottenham Hotspur, the Spain-England rivalry will be reignited as Barcelona face Liverpool across the two leg contest.

Spurs will host Ajax on 30 April, with the return leg in Amsterdam on 8 May. The other semi-final will see Liverpool travelling to Camp Nou on 1 May and the Barcelona will visit Anfield six days later.

Tottenham have faced Ajax twice in Champions League and have a 2-0 record. However, the North London side will be wary of the young and dynamic Dutch team.

Ajax had produced another Champions League wonder as they went past Juventus powered by Ronaldo in Turin. They finished 3-2 on aggregate despite being down by a goal after the first leg.

Meanwhile, Tottenham made it to UCL semi-finals after 57 years after a riveting contest against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Playing away from home with a 1-0 lead, Spurs managed to get past Guardiola’s men on away goals in an eight goals equally split tie.

Spanish league leaders, Barcelona will face their third English challenge this season as they face the English League leaders, Liverpool.

The Reds went past FC Porto in comprehensive fashion as they rounded up a 4-1 away win to mount a 6-1 win on aggregate.

Barcelona on the other hand hosted yet another Lionel Messi show with a Phillipe Coutinho featurette in Camp Nou. The five-time Champions League winner dazzled their way into a Champions League semi-final after 3 years.

The UCL final will be played on 2 June 2019 in Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid.
