July 14, 2015: The Supreme Court appointed Justice Lodha Committee is all set to announce its verdict on the future of Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra along with the fate of IPL their franchises in the spot fixing and betting scandal.
It’s 1:05pm and the three-member committee is seated, ready to deliver their verdict.
He is declared ineligible for participation in the sport of cricket for a maximum period of 5 years. He is suspended for life from being involved with the BCCI in any type of cricket matches. The above sanctions commence from the date of this order.

To sum up the verdict, Rajasthan Royals, the first franchise to win the IPL, and Chennai Super Kings, the most successful IPL franchise, have now both been suspended for two years.
Gurunath Meiyappan, the son-in-law of N Srinivasan, who was found guilty of betting in January has been banned for life from cricket. Raj Kundra, a part-owner of the Rajasthan Royals has also been banned for life from cricket.
