“It’s time to move on.” – with this, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement on Monday, 10 June, at a media interaction, from his two-decade-long career.
Many took to Twitter express shock and paid a tribute to the 2011 World Cup hero. From cricketers to politicians, many tweeted to show their respect and emotions on Yuvraj’s decision, calling it “the end of an era”.
Mohammad Kaif posted a collage of an age-old picture with a recent one of him and Yuvraj. Kaif called Yuvraj a fighter in his farewell post.
In his post, Suresh Raina wished Yuvraj a ‘remarkable 2nd innings’ and called him an inspiration.
Many politicians paid their tributes to Yuvraj through their posts.
Congress’ Kuldeep Bishnoi wished him luck for his upcoming adventures after retirement.
