Kareena Kapoor Unveils ICC T20 World Cup Trophies in Melbourne

Women’s T20 World Cup will kick-off on 21 February 2020.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan unveiled the trophies of the T20 World Cups in Melbourne on 1 November. Both men’s and women’s T20 World Cups are scheduled to take place in Australia next year.

While the Women’s T20 World Cup will kick-off on 21 February, 2020, the men’s edition will begin from 18 October in the same year in Australia.

“I am honoured to be a part of this prestigious evening. I would like to encourage all these women out there who are playing for their respective countries to pursue their dreams. Its truly empowering to see them stand tall on an international platform,” Kareena said ahead of the event.

“They are an inspiration to one and all. My late father-in-law (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi) was one of the greatest cricketers who played for the Indian cricket team and it is an honour for me to be unveiling the trophy.”

Last T20 Men’s World Cup which was held in India in 2016 was won by West Indies, who defeated England in a thrilling final.
