The Mumbai Indians have scalped an opening batsman in Evin Lewis for Rs 3.8 crore! The top-order batsman Saurabh Tiwary goes to Mumbai Indians for Rs 80 lakh.
The Tamil Nadu leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin bags a contract of Rs 2.2 crore with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Ashwin has picked up 30 wickets in 32 T20 matches.
Surprising! The left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdullah, who has a fantastic bowling average of 27.72 in the IPL, finds no takers in the auction.
The uncapped off-spinner Krishnappa Gowtham goes to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 6.2 crore. Gowtham has picked up 20 wickets in 27 T20 matches at an average of 28.95.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils get into the first bidding war of the day. The price is upto to Rs 2.4 crore!
Eventually, RCB gives up at Rs 3.2 crore, and Delhi takes Nadeem at that price.
Nadeem has picked up 37 wickets from 55 IPL matches.
No takers for Karnataka’s leg-spinner KC Cariappa. His base price is set at Rs 20 lakh.

Welcome to the coverage of Day 2 of the IPL Auction from Bengaluru. It was an eventful Day 1 on Saturday – Big players such as Chris Gayle and Lasith Malinga didn’t find any bidders. While Englishman Ben Stokes stole the show, once again, by becoming the most expensive player on Day 1. Stokes joined Steve Smith for Rs 12.5 crore.
