Kolkata Knight Riders showed their humanitarian side.
In a video released on one of the team’s fan page on Facebook, KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan and skipper Dinesh Karthik presented Harshul Goenka, a cerebral palsy patient, the match award that Karthik received, after KKR beat Royal Challengers Bangalore in their tournament opener. The award included a cheque worth Rs 1 lakh and a trophy.
Harshul is a loyal KKR supporter and is seen in almost every home game of the team. A big fan of the actor, he met King Khan back in 2014. Since then, Shah Rukh sends him tickets for KKR’s home games.
Fans couldn’t stop gushing over the gesture by the KKR skipper. The video received over 23,000 likes and favorable reactions, and was shared over 20,000 times. The comments that followed showered praises on Shah Rukh Khan and Dinesh Karthik.
A SRK-fan Twitter handle announced an additional award of Rs 5,000 for Harshul every time KKR won a match.
Like Facebook, Twitter users too applauded this gesture.
Earlier, former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir hailed Harshul as a ‘superfan’ of the Knight Riders.
