Mick Jagger to Donate £20,000 for Every 100 or Fifer in Oval Test
Jagger will donate money for every fifty, ton, fifer & three-wicket haul in the fifth Test between India & England.

The final Test between England and India at The Oval, starting 7 September, will be a dead rubber with the hosts already winning the five-match series, courtesy their victory at Southampton. The Test however, isn’t going to be a complete waste, because legendary singer Mick Jagger has pledged to donate 20,000 Euros to a Chance to Shine foundation, each time a player from either teams scores a century or picks up a five-wicket haul.
The English singer will also be donating 10,000 Euros, every time a cricketer scores a half-century or claims a three-wicket haul.
“I follow England – the game in general, in fact – from wherever I am in the world and thought this would be a fun way to make some money for Chance to Shine. It's been an exciting series that has got people talking cricket so let's reflect that; with every inspiring performance comes a new fan and the younger those fans are, the better it is for cricket's future,” he added.
Founding member of the legendary band, The Rolling Stones, Jagger has been an avid cricket fan for years, and is often spotted in stands during matches across the world. In fact, he was recently present for Ireland's maiden Test against Pakistan at Malahide in May.
The 75-year-old singer, often tweets about the game too.
He thanked Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar for ‘all the wonderful cricket’ after his final match in 2013.
And even when Mumbai Indians defeated Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2017 Indian Premier League final.
The UK-based charitable organisation Chance to Shine, that Jagger will be donating to, has been working towards encouraging and spreading cricket in the country’s schools and communities.
