India reached 174 for 3 at stumps after dismissing Bangladesh for 106 on the opening day in Kolkata.
Skipper Virat Kohli (59) and Ajinkya Rahane (23) were at the crease at the draw of stumps with India leading by 68 runs.
Earlier, Ishant Sharma shone with ball for India, finishing with 5/22. Meanwhile, Umesh Yadav picked 3 wickets and Mohammed Shami settled for 2.
The Indian skipper brought up his 23rd fifty in the longer format against Bangladesh in the 40th over. Virat’s 50 comes off 76 balls and includes 6 fours.
In the last Test in Indore, Virat got out for a duck.

Short of a length delivery from Ebadat, takes Pujara's bat shoulder to second slip. Surprised with the bounced. Pujara tried taking the bottom hand off but without any success.

Taijul Islam was named concussion substitutes for Nayeem Hasan.
Like Liton, Nayeem was also hit by a delivery from Shami. The Bangladesh cricketer was interestingly attended to by Indian team physio Nitin Patel.
Bangladesh, thus, became the first team to make two concussion substitutes in a Test match.
Earlier, Mehidy Hasan came in as concussion substitute after Liton Das was retired hut.
Error on Rohit’s part. The Indian batsman didn’t expect the ball to move in and did not offer any shot. But the delivery from Ebadat Hossain did and wrapped Rohit on the pad, right under the knee roll. On-field umpire gave him out but Rohit moves upstairs.
Replay showed that the ball just brushing the top of the off stump and it's umpire's call on hitting, so India did retain the review but lose Rohit.

The Indian opener was looking good for yet another long innings but a short of length delivery from Al-Amit and Agarwal gets a thick edge and the man at gully takes a fine catch.

Indian pacers dished out a splendid performance to bowl out Bangladesh for 106 on the opening day of their maiden Day-Night Test in Kolkata.

Ravindra Jadeja was lucky to bowl a solitary over but Ashwin didn’t even get an opportunity.

Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan came in as concussion substitute after wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das was hit by a snorter from India pacer Mohammed Shami.
However, Mehidy, an off-spinner, will not be allowed to bowl as per the concussion substitute rule.
The Bangladesh batters are all over the pace. No respite after lunch. With Ebadat’s wicket, Bangladesh are seven wickets down.
Ishant Sharma is the culprit here. The ball is pitched on the middle line length and Ebadat read the movement off the surface. The ball does it work. It skids on the wicket and moves enough to take the top of off-stumps.

Ishant Sharma is the bowler but more importantly, Wriddhiman Saha has caught a complete beauty.
The ball catches a nick off the outside edge and looks headed to Virat at first slip but Saha with his outstretched arm pouches this one.

The pace bowler picks his third wicket as Shadman Islam is caught-behind by Saha on 29.

First ball of the 7th over and Imrul Kayes is given out for caught-behind. Kayes asks for a DRS review and replays show the ball nicked his waist on the way to the keeper, no connection whatsoever with the bat.

"We would have batted first as well. Decent grass cover on it, but it's a hard pitch. With the pink ball there will be something for the first 15 overs. This is another opportunity for us to come and execute our skills. The challenge is to adapt quickly to the ball. It travels fast and it's difficult to control. We are fulfilling a responsibility of debuting with the pink ball. We have the same team from the first Test," Kohli said at the toss.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in Kolkata to watch the historic pink ball cricket Test match between her country and India at the Eden Gardens.
Hasina and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the match by ringing the Eden Bell just before the start of play at 1 p.m.
A special flight Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at the NSC Bose International Airport amid tight security earlier today. She was received at the airport by Kolkata Mayor and West Bengal Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Firhad Hakim, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly, Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das.
