In the bowling department, the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal might also be rested, especially after a hectic year, where the pair almost played all limited-over matches for India. This might be the only time; the selectors could afford to rest the spinners.

Bumrah, who was rested after the Test series against Australia, might be brought back in the team as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami are expected to be rested. India might test out the likes of Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammed Siraj in their absence.
