Veteran Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir has launched a sports talent hunt platform in India. While speaking to The Quint, Gambhir said that he would have loved to have such a platform when he was growing up.
It’s a great platform. I wish I had this platform when I was young because this is a platform where anyone from a small town or a big city can achieve his dreams. It’s an opportunity for one to showcase his talent with transparency and credibility. Which is the most important thing in today’s day and age. There should be transparency in the selection and credible people in the set-up. I wish I had a platform called Funngage when I was growing up because it would have made my life much easier to achieve my dreams.

The Funngage CEO K Karan Singh gave us a glimpse into the working of the talent hunt platform.
The Power Player Talent Hunt is India’s first digitally powered talent hunt. Cricket as such is fairly organised. But India has never had a talent hunt on a pan-India scale. It is a digital platform. We are calling participants, cricket enthusiasts from all across the country. All they have to do is, make a profile on Funngage which is on www.funngage.com or they can download the app on IOS or Android. The platform is for people from ages 12-24 open for both girls and boys. The participants can upload a video showcasing their talent in cricket on their profile. On the basis of the video, they will be shortlisted for a trial.

After passing through various levels of the talent hunt platform, the top 40 participants will be sent to Australia for a three-week training program at Guildford Grammar School in Perth.
