David Warner will return to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s orange kit at IPL 2019 after the franchise elected to retain the Aussie cricketer for the upcoming season.

Warner was not allowed to play the IPL last season due to his involvement in the ball-tampering controversy due to which Cricket Australia banned him from international cricket for a year.

With the ban ending in February, the former Aussie vice-captain looks set to get some game-time before the 2019 ICC World Cup.

Indian Test keeper Wriddhiman Saha’s injuries have cost him his IPL contract with the franchise as he has been released by the team along with England’s Alex Hales and Chris Jordan. West Indies T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite has also been return to the IPL auction player kitty ahead of the event next month.

English and Australian cricketers are not expected to play the entire IPL as the final is scheduled to take place on 19 May and it would leave only 11 days for the players to return to their home base and train for ICC World Cup that starts on 30 May in England.

Another big name Hyderabad will not have in their ranks this season is Shikhar Dhawan after the Indian opener was traded to Delhi Daredevils. Abhishek Sharma, Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem joined Hyderabad in return.
