The Indian players and some of the foreign international stars will have to quickly switch from the fast and frenzy IPL to the suave and patient one-day cricket in the Champions Trophy, which will being on 1 June.
Once the IPL ends on 21 May, it will be a challenge for the players to move from brilliant batting tracks in India to the swinging condition in the United Kingdom.
But that’s the nature of the game.
All the eight teams – Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka – have balanced sides, and therefore, it’s certainly going to be a hard fought tournament.
The teams have been put into two groups – A and B – and the top two sides from each group will qualify for the semi-final.
England, Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia are in Group A. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and South Africa are part of Group B.
