Pro Kabaddi 2017: Bengal Begins Campaign by Beating Telugu Titans

Bengal Warriors began their Pro Kabaddi League campaign by beating Telugu Titans 30-24.

Telugu Titans’ terrible start to the season continued as they slumped to their fourth consecutive defeat. Maninder Singh scored 11 points while Jang Kun Lee’s eight points laid the foundation of Bengal Warriors’ victory. Rahul Chaudhari had a quiet game yet again for Titans and scored just five points.

Jang Kun Lee got Bengal Warriors up and running with a bonus point in the second minute. Rahul Chaudhari began the game in terrific form as he scored three points in five minutes with Telugu Titans leading 6-4 after six minutes.

In the seventh minute, Maninder Singh came up with a super raid for Bengal Warriors as they led 7-6. He followed it up with a two-point raid as Bengal Warriors led 9-6 after nine minutes.

Maninder Singh helped Bengal Warriors inflict the first all out in the 11th minute as Bengal Warriors led 13-8. Such was Bengal Warrior’s raiding prowess that their defence scored their first tackle point in the 12th minute.

Telugu Titans defence had a slow first half as they failed to score a single point after 14 minutes. Titans finally scored their first tackle point in the 15th minute to trail 11-16. The first half ended with Bengal Warriors leading 19-14.

Jang Kun Lee scored with a two-point raid in the 22nd minute as Bengal Warriors led 21-14. Telugu Titans forced a super tackle in the 25th minute as they trailed 16-22. Rakesh Kumar’s tackle point in the 28th minute as Telugu Titans trailed 18-22. Telugu Titans played a patient game and stifled Bengal raiders as they trailed 20-25 after 34 minutes.

In the 37th minute, Jang Kun Lee scored his seventh raid point as Bengal Warriors led 26-20. Telugu Titans got a two-point raid and trailed 22-27 after 37 minutes. Bengal Warriors were relentless in the last couple of minutes and won 30-24.
