India continued their march with another fairly comfortable day in the squash team event.
Barring Harinder Pal Sandhu, who lost to Al Tamini Abdulla in the men's tie against Qatar, no other Indian faced any problem as both the men and the women inched ahead in their pursuit to qualify from the group stage.
Harinder's loss meant both Ramit Tandon and Mahesh Mangaonkar had to be extra cautious but both were up to the task as India eked out a 2-1 win. All other matches ended in India's favour with an identical 3-0 margins.

India’s mixed 4x400m relay team comprising Muhammed Anas, Hima Das, Poovamma Raju and Arokia Rajiv win silver with a timing of 3:15.71 minutes. Bahrain finished with gold with a timing of 3:11.89 minutes.
Purnima Hembram finishes first in the 200m heats with a timing of 25.34 seconds. She is currently third in heptathlon with 3424 points after four events.
Malaprabha Yallapa Jadhav became the first Indian to win a medal in Kurash at the Asian Games after losing 0-10 to Gulnor Sulaymanova in the 52 kg category.
Later in the day, Pincky Balhara settled for silver after losing 0-10 to Sulaymanova in the final.
Manjit Singh wins gold in 800m with a timing of 1:46.15 minutes and Jinson Johnson finishes with a silver with a timing of 1:46.35 minutes.
Dutee Chand finishes with the fastest timing in the consolidated standings of the 200m semi-final. Kazakhstan’s finished second in the second semi-final with a timing of 23.41 seconds.

India finish top of Pool A with 15 points after thrashing Sri Lanka 20-0 in their last group match. The men’s hockey team added 6 more goals in the last quarter, courtesy Rupinder (51’, 52’), Dilpreet (52’), Lalit (57’, 58’) and Mandeep (58’) find the back of the net for India.
The Indian men’s hockey team is relentless in this match. They add seven more goals in the third quarter. Vivek Sagar Prasad (31’), Akashdeep (32’, 42’), Harmanpreet (33’), Mandeep Singh (35’, 43’), Amit Rohidas (38’) score for India!

Indian men's table-tennis team win bronze after losing 0-3 to Republic of Korea in the semi-final. Not too much disappointment with this loss because India still bring home the first table-tennis medal in the history of the Asian Games.
All three Indian paddlers – Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Sharath Kamal and Anthony Amalraj – were no match for their opponents and lost their respective singles games.
PV Sindhu wins a silver after losing 13-21, 16-21 to World no 1 and top seed Tai Tzu Ying in the final of the women’s singles event.
World no 3 Sindhu wasn’t any match to her opponent who maintained a lead through the match. Comprehensive win for Tai, and she now has a 10-3 head-to-head lead over Sindhu.
This is India’s first-ever silver in badminton at the Asian Games. Sindhu is also bringing home a medal in the sport 36 years after Syed Modi won a bronze in the men’s singles event in 1982.
The Indian team of Rajat Chauhan, Aman Saini and Abhishek Verma win silver in the men’s compound archery team event after losing to South Korea in the final.
After four ends, the score was level at 229, taking the match into a shoot-off.
Once again, the scores were level. However, the Koreans bagged the gold courtesy having more arrows in the centre circle.
PV Sindhu has the lost the first game 13-21 to World no 1 and top seed Tai Tzu Ying. Sindhu won two points after the break, reducing her opponent’s lead to 11-9.
But World no 1 Tai races away to a 17-11 lead over Sindhu in the first game, eventually winning the first game of the final.

The Olympic silver medallist is the first-ever Indian to enter the finals of a badminton event at the Asian Games.
The Chinese Taipei player has played Sindhu 12 times so far and holds a dominant 9-3 head-to-head lead over her. In fact, the last time Sindhu came out on top was the 2016 Rio Olympics when she won the match in straight games.
India men’s compound team have won the first set 60-56 against Republic of Korea in the final.
India are the defending champions in the event, and favourites to win this year too.
They had defeated Chinese Taipei 230-227 in the semi-finals.
India have won the first set 25-21 against Pakistan in the quarter-final of the men’s volleyball tournament.
Indian women’s compound archery team have won the silver after losing 231-228 to Republic of Korea in the final.
India were leading 59-57 after the first set before Korea won the second set 58-56. With the scores level at 173-173, both teams were on even keel in the third set scoring 58 points each but India wilted under pressure losing 55-58 to end up second best.
This result is an improvement from the silver they won at the Incheon Asian Games in 2014.
The Indian men's compound team will also face South Korea in the finals.

Deborah and Sonali Chanu fail to qualify for Round 2 of the Women’s Keirin event. Both Indian cyclists finished fourth in their respective heats of the repechage round.
Swapna Barman and Purnima Hembram are currently competing in the Women's Heptathlon event, which includes 100m, High Jump, Shot Put, 200m, Long Jump, Javelin Throw and 800m.
With a taped chin, Swapna has been super impressive in the high jump event, clearing all 1.73, 1.76, 1.79 and 1.82 on her first attempts! She is currently in the lead, while Purnima sits in fifth place.
India has defeated Thailand 3-0 to register their second straight win in Pool B of the women’s Squash team event.
In their campaign opener yesterday, the team of Tanvi Khanna, Joshana Chinappa, Dipika Pallikal, and Sunayna Kuruvilla had defeated Iran 3-0.
They will be playing Indonesia at 5:00 pm IST later today.
Cyclists Deborah and Sonali Chanu moved to the repechage round of the Women's Keirin after finishing fourth and fifth in their respective Heats.
In the women’s team pursuit, India clock a time of India 5:07.863 in Heat 1, and fail to qualify for the Finals.
Dutee Chand and Hima Das qualify for the semi-finals of the women’s 200m event! Both athletes, who’ve already bagged silvers in this Asian Games, finished just 0.10 seconds apart in the heats.
Dutee finished first in Heat 4, and second overall with a timing of 23.37.
Hima Das finished fourth in Heat 1, but stands 7th out of the 16 athletes moving to the next round of the event.
The semi-final is scheduled to start at 5:20 pm IST.

It's not over for Hima, just yet. She really caught up in the last 100 meters and finished with a time of 23.47. While just the top 3 runners from each heat make it through, there's always an opening for the 'fastest loser' and in this case it may be Hima who finished fourth in her heat with a time that was still better than what the winner of Heat 1 clocked.
Big event this morning! Hima Das and Dutee Chand will be competing in the qualification round of the 200m sprint at 8:15am IST.
Both athletes have already won a silver each in this Asian Games.
Dutee finished second in the women's 100m event to win the country's first medal in 20 years in this event. Sprinter Das, who became the U20 World Champion earlier this year, also clinched a silver in the women's 400m. She clocked 50.79s to break her own national record.
A big day for India in athletics as India end Monday in Indonesia with 40 medals - 8 gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze.
On the tenth day of the 18th Asian Games, the Indian men’s and women’s compound archery teams will both be in action. They will fight Korean teams in the final for a gold.
Apart from archery, the Indian mixed 4x400m relay team are also favourites for a gold in the evening session.
The big match of the day though will be when Indian badminton ace PV Sindhu plays world number one Tai Tzu Ying in the women’s singles gold medal match.
We will also see Indian athletes take part in Boxing, Equestrian, Hockey and Squash.
