Twitter Goes Berserk as Indian Athletes Win Silver Treble at Asiad

Hima Das broke her own record at the women’s 400m, while Dutee was beaten to gold by 0.02 seconds.

It was a tremendous day for athletics on Sunday at the 18 th Asian Games as 3 Indian athletes delivered tremendous performances to clinch a treble of silver for India.

While Hima Das broke her own record at the women’s 400m, Dutee Chand showed extreme grit to grab the silver medal in her women’s 100m sprint.

Chand lost the race by 0.02 seconds on the clock to Baharin’s Odiong Edidiong who clocked 11:30 seconds.

Twitter burst in joy for the trio who took India’s medal tally up to 36 at on day 8 of the Asian Games.

Chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal congratulated him on her win stating “India stands proud at her fit.”

Sports minister Rajyavardhan Rathore and Kerala CM Pinnarayi Vijayan congratuated Anas on his silver calling it a remarkable performance.

Virender Sehwag tweeted saying “Watching Hima, Anas and Dutee perform makes us realise it's not about shoes but about the soul.”

Dutee Chand’s nail bitting finish got Twitter berserk, who rightly hailed her silver finish no less than a gold.
