Google never fails to impress us with its striking and quirky doodles. On 3 July, Google paid tribute to 140 years of Wimbledon with an interactive doodle. The Google doodle features two animated tennis rackets, taking shots at the grass court.

The world's oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament has been taking place at London’s All England Club in Wimbledon since 1877.

Wimbledon 2017 kicks off on 3 July and will end on 16 July.

Defending champion Andy Murray will take on two-time winner Rafael Nadal on the first day of the tournament.

Among the tennis stars who will give this edition of the tournament a miss are world champion Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. While Williams will skip the event due to her pregnancy, Sharapova - who recently returned after being suspended for 15 months for taking the banned drug meldonium - will sit out Wimbledon owing to an injury.
