Being a Roadie is no child’s play. Contestants have to employ physical strength and mental toughness if they are to survive the long and tough journey to earn the coveted title. In order to prove their mettle, a Roadie must successfully complete a series of gruelling physical and mental tasks. Here’s a look at five challenging tasks that Roadies have performed in Renault MTV Roadies Rising so far:
As the name suggests, the task involved saw contestants making an attempt to conquer the quilla. The objective of the task was to conquer a makeshift castle by hoisting the flag. Whichever gang took the least amount of time won the challenge.
The task was to be performed by the entire gang where a see-saw contraption was made on which one gang member stood elevated with bow & arrows, on the other end one gang member balanced the shooter and fetched him the arrows. The other two gang members pulled up a duster on an inclined slope which opened the castle door for the shooter to aim. The window of the castle had ropes tied from two ends which were attached to the rear end of the Duster. After the door was opened, the shooter had sight of waterbag he had to take aim and hit the waterbag post which the water fell into the bucket and the flag was hoisted. The gang which won this challenge were the rulers of the city. Phew! Doesn’t that sound like one hell of a task!
Ball Ball Bache involved the googlies selected by the very own, googly master performing the task. The task involved googlies to shoot cannon balls on the opponents standing on a plank. The last 2 men standing on plank won the game along with immunity
Jamaal Ka Kamaal was a fun task of question and answers, wherein wacky questions were asked to the roadies and with every right answer given by each gang, the gang leader got an opportunity to cut off someone's rope. Each roadie has around 3-5 ropes to himself. With every wrong answer, the roadie had to eat jamalgotta peda. The roadie whose ropes were cut off or gave up because of Jamaalgotta was out of the game. Looks like the jamaalgota did work wonders!
Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar was to be performed with two gang members. A rope was entangled in a zig zag pattern over a pit with bamboos with the end of the rope tied to the Duster and a rostrum at the other end of the bamboo pit. One of the gang members had to pull up the rope over the bamboos and tie the rope on the rostrum. After the rope was tied, the gang member monkey crawled along the rope from the top of the rostrum till he reached the final position down towards the Duster. After coming down to the Duster, the gang member had to free the Duster by removing the rope and the final stunt involved the car to be driven across a fire frame.
Shootout at Dholpur was a rather difficult task where one of the contestants was tied and dragged by the car while the other person from the same gang was driving the Duster. Along this path, there were a lot of dummies on the way of the gangs. The aim was for the roadie to gain maximum points while they shot the dummy targets as they were dragged by the Duster. Scary much? Isn’t it?!
