In this episode of The Big Story podcast, we talk about the mega Opposition rally that was held in Kolkata on Saturday, 19 January, organised by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who said this rally would be a “death knell” for the BJP.
The list of attendees was long despite the fact that a few prominent faces, such as Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mayawati, were missing.
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP government, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee said, “The Modi government is past its expiry date and in the coming days, a new dawn will descend. We will work together and it is a promise.”
In response to this alliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the Opposition parties gathered together due to fear. BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy, too, commented on this gathering and asked who is the ‘prime ministerial face’ of the front. But will the lack of a prominent face affect the alliance? Tune in to The Big Story to find out!
