How do we measure the impact of a single vote? Now consider this, approximately 260.6 million women exercised their right to vote in the 2014 General elections in India. The ‘Me, The Change’ campaign – an initiative by The Quint and presented by Facebook, focuses on these women achievers and first-time voters who will take the change forward in the 2019 General election.
For the second episode of this podcast, we spoke to veteran journalist Usha Rai, who is among one of the first women journalists in India who brought women's issues into mainstream reportage. In this episode she talks to us about how she had to choose between badminton and journalism, being one of the few female journalists in a male-dominated newsroom in the early day and what she'd tell the younger generation.
