The trailer for The Zoya Factor was released on 29 August. The film’s leads Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan were all smiles at the launch event in Mumbai. Sonam was even dressed in red, a nod to her character who becomes a lucky charm for the Indian cricket team and has some eccentric superstitions. “I'm a little superstitious in real life. I don't know if it is superstition or not, but I believe in destiny. Everything happens for a reason. There is a reason that I am sitting here and many other girls are not, who probably deserve it more or less. I'm a firm believer in destiny and hard work,” she said at the launch.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, The Zoya Factor is based on Anuja Chauhan’s popular 2008 novel. Sonam plays Zoya Solanki who is born the day India won the Cricket World Cup in June 1983. As part of her job as an advertising executive, she is assigned to work with the Indian cricket team. She ends up being their lucky mascot and falls for the captain, played by Dulquer. The film releases on 20 September.
