Union Minister Smriti Irani attended the second day of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 on Thirsday 22 August and watched three shows at the event. She was spotted sitting in for designers Sohan Dave, Padmaja and Maku’s shows. Smriti, who is the Minister of Textiles, Women and Child Development, was there for the inauguration of the largest initiative towards sustainable fashion which will happen later in the day.
Smriti went on to take a look at the collections of emerging young designers and gave them a few tips.
Day 1 of the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 on Wednesday was dominated by newbies as well as veterans.
Six rising designers namely Sahib Bhatia, Gaurav Singh, Ankita Srivastava, Akanksha Aggarwal, Manjushree Saikia, Stanzin Palmo coming from different parts of the country showcased their contemporary collections inspired by regional traditional wears marked their debut on the LFW ramp with the Gen Next show.
