On Thursday night, clashes broke out in Mathura after a drive to evict illegal occupants in Jawahar Bagh was disrupted by encroachers.
The mindless violence resulted in the death of 24 people, and injured about 40. Among the deceased were two police officers – Mukul Dwivedi, Superintendent of Police (SP), and Santosh Yadav, Station Officer (SO).
On Friday, the police arrested 366 people, according to NDTV.
